Uber teams up with Hyundai Motor to develop small electric-flying cars

US ride-hailing company UberTechnologies Inc and South Korean automaker Hyundai Motorshave teamed up to develop electric air taxis, joining the global race to make small self-flying carsto ease urban congestion.It will be the most new innovation in the delivery service by the Uber Technologies.Global players like Germany's Daimler , China's Geely Automobile and Japan's Toyota have all unveiled investments in startups that aim to deploy electric flying carscapable of vertical takeoff and landing. But there are big technological and regulatory hurdles to the plans.It is most challenging strategy fo Uber and Hyundai due develop this electric-flying cars.They have this goal of launching Uber Air by 2023 said by "Eric Allison head of Uber Elevate.
Though it will take some time to implement the plan due to laws and systems confirmation needed to launch the new small electric-flying cars.Hyundai will be the first carmaker to join Uber's air taxi project, which also counts Boeing subsidiary Aurora Flight Sciences among its partner firms.Hyundai will produce and deploy the vehicles while Uber will provide happening ride-share services.Uber, which has partnered with eight companieson its air taxi project, however, acknowledged it would be unrealistic to expect all its partners to go to market at the same time.
They have plans limited for in 2023 for commercial operations.

Hyundai have the strategy to design this car carrying upto four passengers with a pilot and fly on trips of upto 60 miles.Air taxis come in several shapes and sizes - electric motors replace jet engines, and aircraft have rotating wings and, in some cases, rotors in place of propellers.
The urban flight market will exceed the current number of commercial airplanes flying around the world - about 25,000.

Boeing has said it is working with Volkswagen's sports car brand, Porsche, to develop a concept electric flying vehicle that can transport people in urban areas.Most probably it wil be the new innovation for Uber technologies to come up with this strategy they will launch it by in few years.
